Evaluation

For my assessment it was difficult for me to create my partner hair design which involved creating heart shape from French plaits, I have found a way to make it easier for me by using two plaits and connecting them at the bottom, using hair clips and this way shaping the heart using both of the plaits. My partner’s hair design did not involve any extra hair accessories or materials. I developed my research skills by constantly looking for the hairstyle ideas, or methods or the background behind the hairstyles that I needed to create. Working on my partner’s hair was extremely different than Kate's head, because the hair structure was completely different. Kate's hair was very course and not so soft, easy to manipulate and all of the hair was the same length. My partners hair was soft therefore not so easy to manipulate, she had layers and fringe, which made it harder for me to create plaits due to shorter layers that would stick up from the plaits. I found the project overall very interesting, finding out more about Elizabethan era, understanding how beauty was seen as something different than right now. What I would different is maybe use more research methods, practice more on myself rather than Kate's head because I need to get used to human's hair structure. I enjoyed the most experimenting with the hair, trying out new hairstyles and techniques, using materials like padding to create a specific look was very fun for me and I very much enjoyed that.
